Why is Animal Crossing so popular with children?
The cute, fun animation is a big draw for children. Many enjoy creating their digital avatar and spending the virtual in-game currency they have earned from collecting items on the island.
Animal Crossing isn’t competitive and there isn’t a ‘wrong’ way to play it. Different people enjoy different aspects of the game, whether it’s building enormous houses or just collecting bugs and donating them to the museum.
The mobile version, Pocket Camp, is a free app and no expensive Nintendo Switch device is required. The app is also very easy to play; there are no controls to learn, the tasks are easier and the island is smaller to manage.
