Can I make my child’s Discord account private?

Although you cannot make a discord account truly private, you can prevent users from adding your child or communicating with your child without their consent. Here are the settings we recommend: 

Safe Direct Messaging: Keep me safe - this setting will prevent users from sending any media that Discord deems inappropriate from being seen.

Server Privacy Defaults:
  1. Allow direct messages from server members: Off - this prevents members of servers from sending direct messages to your Discord account
  2. Allow access to NSFW servers on iOS: Off - Note this does not apply to Desktop or Android devices

Who can add you as a friend:
  1. Everyone: Off
  2. Friends of friends: Off
  3. Server Members: Off
