Cyberbullying on TikTok
There have been many reports about cyberbullying on TikTok despite measures that have been taken to prevent it. Having conversations with your child about what cyberbullying is and how they should respond if it happens to them or someone they know is the most important step to take.
The company is implementing new anti-bullying strategies, such as being able to filter comments by keywords, spam and offensive comments. Slurs, profanity, or other problematic content that people might post on a video can be hidden until you view and approve them.
The TikTok app also screens comments before a user posts them. If it detects language that violates the app’s policies, it prompts the user with a suggestion that they should revise or discard the comment.
