TikTok combines the experiences of other social media platforms; like YouTube, it consists entirely of videos, but like Facebook and Twitter, it operates by users scrolling through a ‘feed’; like Netflix, it operates through a ‘recommended for you’ algorithm and like Snapchat and Instagram, TikTok can only be produced on mobile phones.
